Baby Cockatiels

All of our baby cockatiels are approximately 8 weeks old and parent reared. Cockatiels mimic but it is more likely for males to talk. Cockatiels are a common beginner bird and can make for companions, with their easy going nature. We would recommend baby cockatiels as family birds, but they can be very heavy fliers which can be frightening to younger children. Cockatiels are often a robust bird which can manage a lot of interaction, but if they are not in the mood they will often hiss instead of nipping, so could be a good option for a nervous owner. Cockatiels originate from Australia so are a drier bird which makes for easier care. However, we would not recommend cockatiels for anyone with sensitive respiratory conditions as they can be extremely dusty.
